In chapters 31-33, Huck realizes that they are a long way from home. The new schemes of the duke and the king barely bring in enough money, so the two men begin to plot and whisper about their next scam(the thing I strongly dislike about these chapters is the con men. They annoy me in a way. They are really rude and back stabbers). Huck and Jim are concerned about the behavior of the con men, and when Huck finally sees a chance to escape, he discovers that the duke and the king have made a fake bill and turned in Jim for a $40 reward. Huck was furious because "after all we'd done for them scoundrels . . . they could have the heart to serve Jim and make him a slave again all his life." After trying to pray, Huck writes a letter to Miss Watson telling her where Jim is and signs it "Huck Finn." Instead of being satisfied with his decision, Huck begins to replay the trip with Jim down the river. He reminisces about the two of them "a-floating along, talking and singing and laughing" and he realizes he can't see Jim as someone disgraceful. Huck then tears the letter to pieces. Huck then makes the decision to steal Jim back out of slavery. This moment was my favorite out of chapters 31-33. It shows the relationship that Huck and Jim built throughout their journey. My second favorite moment is when Huck meets up with Tom Sawyer.
I didn't have any questions about these chapters, but I will say that these have been my favorite three chapters.
